Workshop Description:
Blogs? Wikis? Social bookmarking? What do they all have in common other than being labeled "Web 2.0" technologies? They all rely on a protocol called "RSS", a data format that allows users to receive continual updates of information, be it on their desktops or anywhere else in the world.
In the second workshop of the Web 2.0 series, we'll learn about the basics and history of RSS, including functionality, how it's implemented in the real world (feed readers, adding feeds, etc.) as well as how you and your institution can leverage this format to provide unique services to your users. We will explore and practice
